Leeds Yarn Owls

I am just in the process of setting up a yarn bombing collective with Laura Jordan and it's going to be called Leeds Yarn Owls.
We're planning on having a meet up at least once a month for a 'stitch n bitch' style session and then we will go out into the city and graffiti areas with the things we have made. These will be photographed for our blog and facebook page etc.
We are hoping to take our collective to a few summer festivals this year where we will put on a workshop followed by a 'graffiti' session around the festival afterwards.
We may curate an exhibition to showcase the photographs and videos of the 'graffiti' during the winter months.
We need to create a logo, blog, facebook page etc.... all very exciting!!

The penny has droppped!

I've really struggled this year to work out what it actually is that I want to do after my degree and I have seemed to have spent the best part of the second year in a panic about it. However after attempting many different ways of working and trying to do things that I thought uni wanted and not do things I wanted to do, I have managed to work it out.
I want to concentrate more on the community arts side of things, in particular putting on workshops at festivals and events, and also doing some voluntary work with some local community groups.
I will mainly be working within the medium of craft but would also still like to improve my film and photography skills as i will use these as a way of documenting what it is i do.
Now I know what it is i want to do I can get on with doing it!!

Communication Technology evaluation

I really enjoyed this module and found it very interesting, however I did have to get an extension due to me moving house at the beginning of the year and i feel this set me back in a lot of ways. Mainly due to missing most of the animation tutorials and workshops that were on offer and as i haven't really done any animation before i feel that i have had to teach myself. I am please with my research for this project but feel the practical stuff is what lets it down. I feel that i have learnt alot from my research and from visiting other animators and exhibitions but i haven't had the chance to learn any real practical skills.
overall i am pleased with my progress on this module but feel in different circumstances it could have much better.

A simple goldfish in a bowl Thaumatrope I made, there is a fish on one side and a bowl on the other, when you spin it the fish appears to be in the bowl.
